About the class
Curious how we get those crackly, golden BakeShop sourdough loaves?
In this hands-on evening class, Kacey will walk you through our relaxed, home-baker–friendly sourdough routine from start to finish. No prior experience needed — just a love of good bread.
During class, we’ll cover:
how our 3-day BakeShop sourdough schedule works and how to fit it into real life
mixing, folding, shaping, scoring, and baking a beautiful loaf
what’s actually happening with wild yeast, flour, hydration, and fermentation (in normal-people language)
how to care for, feed, and troubleshoot your starter
how we tweak dough for North Carolina’s lovely humidity so your bread still turns out great
our favorite practical “little hacks” that save new bakers months of trial and error
You’ll go home with:
a printed mini guide (starter care, common mistakes + fixes, a simple hydration chart, and our house loaf recipe)
one sourdough loaf baked in class for slicing and sharing
one shaped, ready-to-bake dough to pop into your own oven at home
a jar of our BakeShop mother starter to keep and bake with
a bench scraper and lame to keep using on future loaves
the confidence to keep baking sourdough in your own kitchen
